Micro-Needling
Sometimes known as collagen induction therapy, micro-needling is the insertion of very fine, short needles into the skin for the purpose of rejuvenation. It is a non-invasive procedure in which small needles create punctures in the skin to illicit a healing response from the body. In doing so it stimulates collagen production, improves skin texture and reduce wrinkles, acne, scarring and hyperpigmentation/melasma. During a 30 minute procedure, needles will go to a depth of about 0.25mm to1.5mm depending on the location and the person. Micro-needling is recommended on a monthly basis until desired results are seen.
Nano-Needling
Nano-needling uses microscopic, hair-like needles (even finer than the ones used in micro-needling) that are coated in silicone to barely penetrate the very top layer of skin by separating cells and allowing active ingredients to be delivered. The needles used in this procedure typically only reach the upper 0.15mm of the skin and is virtually painless. Benefits of this treatment include reduced pigmentation, improved skin cell turnover, rejuvenation, and an immediate improvement in the skin’s appearance with no recovery time. This 30 minute treatment can be done on a weekly basis as an exfoliative treatment and is typically used to target the lips, under-eyes, and more sensitive areas/skin types.
